Linux History Quiz
I just sat the 10 question Linux History Quiz obtaining a score of 80; apparently this proves that I've been around Linux for a while and should probably consider growing a beard. Go sit the quiz and post your scores here!

Ethernet over Power with the HomePlug NP200AV
We are renting a house - quite an old brick house with no basement, ornate plaster ceilings, and huge brick fireplaces throughout.
When I went to get cable broadband installed this posed a problem. How could I get high-speed network access from one side of the house to other without laying cable? I'd previously set up a WLAN across the house, but although the house isn't huge, those brick chimneys took their toll, reducing signal strength across the width of the house to the point where it was slow and unreliable. As this would affect access to my main daily PC this wasn't an option.

Cool Browsers
Over the past few days I've come across two very cool browsers; Flock and Swiftfox.
Swiftfox describes itself as "an optimized build of Mozilla Firefox." I installed the AMD64 optimised (32 bit) build on Ubuntu Dapper x86 and I have to say it really is fast. If you like Firefox go get it. You won't regret it.
Flock is something new - it's based on Mozilla code but is something of a new browser concept. It integrates with blogs, online photo Flickry services, favourites tagging whatsits like del.icio.us and all sorts of social stuff like that. I'm using it to type this blog entry!
